Privacy policy

ProMouser is a static website for mouse guides and browser-based tools. This policy explains what the site itself stores and what happens when you use external services linked from the site.

Information stored in your browser

The site does not require an account. A few features store small preferences locally in your browser:

  • The announcement banner dismissal is remembered for the current browser session using session storage.
  • The mouse comparison tool saves its selected comparison settings in local storage so they remain available on your device.
  • The recommendation assistant processes your questions in the page and reads the local mouse-guide pages to provide context. It does not send your chat text to an AI service.
  • If you create an account, your name, email, a salted hash of your password, your preferences (games, weight, grip and so on), credits, plan, orders and recommendation history are stored in local storage under the keys pm_users and pm_session. Until a real sign-in service is connected, this data stays in your browser only; it is not sent to ProMouser.
  • A plan marker (pm_plan) is kept in local storage so the ProMouser Lite or Ultra colour theme can apply as soon as a page loads.
  • ProMouser Ultra members can save a price watchlist, preference profiles and assistant memory; these are stored with their account. The sensitivity converter remembers your last inputs in local storage (pm_sens).
  • The CPS test and the other mouse tests keep your scores, personal bests and test settings in local storage (pm_cps and pm_tests) so you can track progress. They stay in your browser; clear them with the Clear button on the CPS test or your browser’s site data settings.
  • Session storage (pm_onb_asked) remembers whether the welcome questions have already been shown during the current visit.
  • If you use the Recommendation Assistant, your messages and the preferences it picked up are kept in session storage (pm_assistant) for the current tab only, so the conversation survives a reload. Closing the tab deletes them; they are never sent anywhere.

These browser values are not sent to ProMouser. You can clear them through your browser’s site-data controls.

Accounts, credits and payments

Sign-in, credits and checkout are currently a demonstration: they run entirely in your browser, no payment details are collected, and no real payments are taken. When real payments are introduced through a payment provider such as Razorpay, this policy will be updated before they go live to describe what is collected and shared.

External services

Pages load typography from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to request those font files. Links to services such as YouTube, retailers, and Logitech open their own websites; those services have separate privacy practices that ProMouser does not control.

Analytics and advertising

ProMouser does not intentionally use its own analytics, advertising trackers, or account system on this static site.

Children and sensitive information

The site is not designed to collect personal or sensitive information. Please do not include private information in messages or reports submitted to third-party services.
